The moment marked the beginning of a new era for the brand and was the culmination of a process dubbed ‘the last great adventure in automotive history’.
Rolls-Royce is upholding a longstanding tradition of creating a time capsule as part of a major construction project – in the marque’s case, the landmark extension now under construction at the Home of Rolls-Royce, which represents the largest single investment in its Goodwood-based facilities in more than 20 years.
The construction phase of the new £300+ million landmark extension to the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood has begun, with the pouring of the first concrete foundation pads on the site, adjacent to the marque’s existing manufacturing facility and global headquarters.

Beloved by royalty, it stands as a lasting symbol of luxury and exclusivity in the marque’s history.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is delighted to announce that its new House Charity for 2025 is Dementia Support at Sage House. The charity brings a range of vital support, guidance and care services for people living with dementia together under one roof at Sage House in Tangmere, West Sussex, just a few minutes from the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood.
Apprentices at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars have designed and handmade a series of nest boxes for one of the UK’s most endangered mammals, the hazel dormouse (Muscardinus avellanarius), as part of the marque’s long-term environmental partnership with the neighbouring Goodwood Estate.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars unveils the one-of-one Phantom Extended created as a celebration of the Year of the Dragon. Commissioned by a discerning client from China, Phantom Dragon offers a contemporary rendition of the ancient Chinese legend of two dragons with a pearl – a motif with complex symbolism and great cultural significance, celebrated in art, architecture, and literature throughout East Asia.
